The Secret of No-Fail Decisions

Author: Liata Gluck

Are you one of those people who can't seem to get ahead -- who works and works but with each step forward seems to take two steps back? Do you find yourself falling short of your life goals? Do you feel like things are stagnating?

If so, you may be able to benefit from the guidance of the most ancient Chinese fortune telling oracle, the I Ching. When an experienced I Ching reader casts your hexagrams and interprets them, you can receive step by step instructions for achieving your greatest desires.

Many people claim that you can achieve anything as long as you work for it. However, it's obvious that many people can work all their lives but still achieve very little. The fact is it's not just a matter of hard work -- it's a matter of making good decisions. Think of it: say you are presented with an opportunity to open your own business. You take out a loan and invest everything you have in the company. You show up early every day, and work late into the night. You spend all your energy promoting your business and trying to draw customers. Within 2 years the business fails, and you have lost not only your money, but also sacrificed your credit score and two years of hard work for nothing. And now you get to work even harder to try to make back what you had in the first place. Was this a failure to work hard? No! It was merely a poor decision. It was no one's fault -- how could you have known the business wouldn't work out? The I Ching would have known.

Say that the girl you love more than anything leaves you inexplicably. You want her back, so you drink several beers to work up the courage to call her, and end up leaving 30 separate slurred messages on her phone in the middle of the night, all of which consist of you proclaiming your love and begging her to return. This was no failure to act -- at the time you truly believed this would move her. The fact is she will probably not return from this; and while there may still be ways to win back her affection, you will have to work even harder to undo the damages caused by this one-night's action. The I Ching would know the way to do this.

The fact is that nothing is impossible -- all it takes to be successful is a willingness to work, and most importantly, that the work you do be based on good decisions.

The I Ching is a book that was originally used entirely for fortune telling. Over time, it's sound guidance came to be so respected that it was used in its own right as a book of spiritual, mental and emotional advice. The terms I Ching are Chinese for BOOK (I) and CHANGE (Ching) which is why it is also known at times as the Book of Changes. The way the book is employed, is a person must ask their question while casting a hexagram, or image of six lines. Every possible hexagram is contained in the I Ching. When the hexagram is cast, it will being either a moving or a stagnant hexagram, portraying the current situation with whatever your question concerned. If it's a moving hexagram, there will be a second hexagram showing where things are soon headed. Within the I Ching, one can read the causes of and best behaviors for coping with these circumstances. If one desires change, a hexagram portraying the desired outcome may be chosen, and the corresponding advice used to win this goal.

Say you have an idea for a project, and want to raise some money. You have someone in mind to ask for money, so you ask the I Ching, "How will it go if I ask him for this money?" Let's say the I Ching gives the hexagram numbered 52, called "Rest." It is a moving hexagram, and because it is changing on the third line and the sixth line, it is becoming the hexagram numbered 2, called "Left Behind." This means that, at the moment of the casting, nothing is happening -- the situation is at REST. But, if you make the request for money, it will turn to LEFT BEHIND. This is not favorble to your goal -- the person will ignore your request. Nothing is happening or will happen. What you want to see is the hexagram numbered 1, CREATIVE POWER. This hexagram is the opposite of hexagram number 2. This means everything is going in the wrong direction now. What then would you need to do to get things your way? The advice would fall in the lines 1, 2, 4 and 5 of of the 52nd hexagram, because those are the changes needed to get the outcome you desire. In short, they advise to stop and size up the situation before acting, to take things slowly, to choose words carefully and to avoid action for now. In essence, it says if you want him to give you the money, then now is not the time to ask, and you will have to wait for a later date.

But what date would that be? Here we come to another way to read the I Ching. This is a much more complicated method, and only skilled I Ching readers can do it. The client must throw the coins, and the I Ching reader, using the ancient Chinese calendar, will be able to decipher what date an event will occur on, if it is to occur at all. The reason the clients must throw their own coins is because the prediction is to forecast when the even will happen to the client or someone the client is concerned with -- the reader, not typically being famliar with the people, would not find it to be as easy to decipher which parts of the hexagram represent events forecast for strangers.

Confucius himself is famously quoted as saying in his old age, "If I had longer to live, I'd devote another fifty years to the study of I Ching, and then I could never make a bad decision." Several centuries have since passed -- with the wisdom of the I Ching's secrets nearing perfection, why not give it a try?

The Greatest Erotic Novel, and How It Altered History

Author: Talia

Fanny Hill is seen by many as the first modern "erotic novel" in English, and one of the best erotic novels ever for its inclusion of romance. It was printed in two installments, in November 1748 and February 1749, respectively. At first, there was no governmental response to the erotic novel, and it was only in November 1749, about a year after the first installment was produced, that Cleland and his publisher were arrested and charged with "corrupting the King's subjects." This simply increased the demand for the work.

A century later, it was a high-demand Victorian erotic novel, and the book eventually wound its way to the United States where, in 1821, it was officially banned once more for its indecency. Even recently, in 1963, the version of the book produced by G. B. Putnam with the name John Cleland's Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure was immediately banned for obscenity upon its release. The publisher fought the action in court, in February 1964. The defense argued against allegations of obscenity by authors and a critic, insisting the banned book could offer historical insights into English living and that it was but a lighthearted salute to regular non-perverted sex 2013 lewd and bawdy, but not filthy or indecent, and a valuable historical novel on top of it. However, the prosecution countered on the logic of one scene of erotic fiction involving flogging and S&M, and won their case through this. The suit had emphasized the increasing rift between the obscenity laws and the reality of late 1960s British society, and it was an active influence in shifting views to the point where, in 1970, an unexpurgated version of Fanny Hill was freshly published in Britain.

America did not let poor Fanny off the hook either. Only in 1966 did the United States Supreme Court rule in Memoirs v. Massachusetts that the banned book did not meet the Roth standard for obscenity of an erotic novel. It was a landmark case. In 1973, the ban on the graphic erotic novel was lifted completely because although it does seek to stimulate erotic fantasy and lust, and at points can be demonstrably offensive, the piece taken in its entirety does not lack literary or artistic value.

The plot concerns Frances ("Fanny") Hill, a form of historical Lifetime Original Movie-esque character but written in 1748, it bests spectacularly Jane Austen's and Charles Dickens' clean 'classics'. Decency forbids providing some of the erotic novel's excerpts, but you can get a nice, fully illustrated edition for $18.95 at Amazon.com

Money Saving Dentistry Magic

Just got a wisdom tooth out (payed for with a nice discount courtesy of the Money Stay With Me Oil offered by Talia at Talia's Tarot.) Weirdly, it's not so much the tooth socket that's hurting as the area where the dentist injected me with all that novocaine.

On Tarot Reading and Free Tarot Spreads

Author: Ishilyn Calma
You may be curious about tarot card reading that is why you are reading this article. No one can blame you there as tarot reading is really a very interesting subject. Who isn\'t interested in having some way of knowing what the future brings, or having our questions answered by something more reliable and more tested than a magic 8-ball that we usually used. Tarot reading is anchored on the belief that there is a possibility to peek at what is to come. Some also believe that tarot reading is basically opening up the subconscious\' power and releasing what we already know will happen in the future. Free tarot spreads\' information and tarot reading data will hopefully help one achieve these possibilities.

Tarot reading basically starts with the deck. There are 78 cards all in all, 22 major arcana cards and 56 minor arcana cards that look like the regular playing cards used in casinos. The major arcana cards are comprised of the following:

1. The Fool

2. The Magician

3. The High-Priestess

4. The Empress

5. The Emperor

6. The Hierophant

7. The Lovers

8. The Chariot

9. Strength

10. The Hermit

11. The Wheel of Fortune

12. Justice

13. The Hanged Man

14. Death

15. Temperance

16. The Devil

17. The Tower

18. The Star

19. The Moon

20. The Sun

21. Judgment

22. The World

The minor arcana cards are divided into four suits, cups, wands, pentacles and swords. Their specific meanings are available online and most decks that you buy actually have a separate sheet of paper defining the cards.

The tricky part in reading tarot cards actually comes in when you are already laying out your deck. This is called the spread. Free tarot spreads information is available in many occult shops or you can visit your local library to get a deep grasp about them. Here are some easy to use spreads that are good to try for beginners.

1. Four card spread

The cards are laid out in a diamond shape. The topmost point is your love life, the left most point is represents your career and its opposite end, the rightmost point, denotes your finances. The lower pinnacle is your health and happiness.

2. Single card spread

This is usually used for answering yes or no questions.

3. Three card spread

Cards are laid out in a horizontal position. The first card is all about your influences, your past. The second card represents your present situation, what you are dealing with and how you are currently dealing with it. The last card is the future, it denotes what will happen based on what you are doing right now and what your position will be in the future.

4. Celtic Cross

This is a slightly difficult spread to use but it is by far the most famous spread that a beginner may be curious to try it. It tackles almost all aspects in life which is why it is very popular. It uses ten cards, 6 in a cross, 4 placed vertically parallel to it.

Aside from libraries and book shops, there is actually a huge library of online information on free tarot spreads so try using your favorite online search engine and see which spread best fits you.About the Author:

Magical and Occult Books

Anyone looking for occult books knows how hard it can be to find occult book shops of quality -- far too many seem to just stock up on Harry Potter or New Age mumbo jumbo. The best occult book shop I know of is the occult book store at Talia's Tarot. The occult book list there includes all types -- money books, love books, spirit books, evil books and so on. Besides occult magic books, it also has fortune telling books and divination instructions. Check it out!
